Health – Is It Anemia Or Sleep Apnea?

I have been dozing off while driving to and from work. I drive 50 minutes each way. I have had trouble sleeping for the past few months. I am tired during the day but I am not yawning all day. I am fatigued/exhausted. I get short of breath walking to the copier in the hallway. I am dizzy sometimes. I have mini spells where I think I dozed off and get jerked awake while sitting at my desk. I have had major headaches in the morning. I can’t watch TV without falling asleep, doesn’t matter the time of day. I go to bed between 9 & 10 and wake up at 5am, at 5am I take a shower and then fall asleep in my chair in the living room until 6:15am when I get up and get ready to leave for work. When I get home at night we have dinner and then I watch TV while dozing off/sleeping. I have no energy to do anything. I barely make it at work all day. I recently had my period for 2 weeks. And I have ulcerative colitis. This is where I think the Anemia may be coming from. At times I feel like my heart is racing. I can’t get dressed without getting so out of breath I have to sit on side of bed to catch my breath and taking a shower is a whole other story. I have no health insurance and can’t afford to see a doctor right now because they want payment now. At work I sometimes am in the middle of writing something when I have a mini episode and when I come to I have written nonsense that has nothing to do with work or I wrote partial of what I was supposed to but it is extremely small. Any opinions?

You definitely need medical intervention. My husband has sleep apnea and uses a machine and your symptoms sound like his were before he got the machine. If you live in the U.S. Doctors cannot refuse to treat you because of your inability to pay. That law was passed a couple years or so ago by the President so there is no reason you can’t go to the Dr. Also, every hospital has plans that are covered under charity. Big companies donate money to hospitals for a tax break and the hospital uses the money for people who can’t pay. Check with your hospital about it. Don’t let them tell you it isn’t so, I know too many people who have been in the hospital and never had to pay because they didn’t have the money and their bill was paid by the charity fund. It is not called a charity fund but the name of it escapes me right now. Go see a Dr before you fall asleep driving and kill a carload of people and end up in jail.

Please go to a hospital or medical department immediately. This could be very serious and dangerous. If you go to the hospital you may qualify for charity care or at least they would have to accept a payment plan. Please don’t wait, your life is more important that financial worries. Good luck and God Bless.
